Munyaradzi Kereke Dies

Former Reserve Bank Of Zimbabwe (RBZ) top official , Dr Munyaradzi Kereke has died .
Dr Kereke passed away this morning at Avenues Clinic in Harare.
The economist previously served as an adviser to former Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Governor Dr Gideon Gono.He later entered politics and served as the Member of Parliament for Bikita West.
In the 2013 harmonised elections, he contested for the constituency on a Zanu PF ticket.
According to reports and family confirmations, Kereke was admitted to the private medical facility on 29 September due to complications related to uncontrolled diabetes and high blood pressure, and subsequently suffered a fatal stroke.
Kereke was a prominent and highly controversial economist who served as a core adviser to former RBZ Governor Gideon Gono. He later transitioned into politics, successfully running as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bikita West.
His later professional career and public standing were heavily overshadowed when he was convicted and imprisoned for rape
