Mohadi salutes NetOne Cellular for 5G upgrade

VICE President Kembo Mohadi has saluted Mobile Network Operator (MNO), NetOne Cellular for upgrading to the 5G technology saying the move positions the firm as a key player in the technological landscape.
He made the remarks while addressing delegates gathered to witness the launch of the 5G technology this week, Mohadi hailed the MNO for swiftly responding to the technological dynamism.
“The launch of 5G is more than just an upgrade in communications infrastructure, it symbolizes our commitment to a digital future that positions Zimbabwe as a key player in the global technological landscape .With innovative solutions like this , we are dedicated to cultivating an ecosystem that encourages creativity , efficiency and progress across all sectors of our nation,” he said.
Mohadi said by embracing cutting edge technologies, we will pave the way for a smart Zimbabwe marked by smart cities , smart agriculture, advanced industries and enhanced education since such digital transformation will permeate every face of the economy and society being enabled by base stations which serves as a crucial building block that empowers Zimbabweans to flourish in an increasingly interconnected world.
“Today marks a pivotal moment that transcends mere advancements in communication or enhanced data accessibility .The innovations we are unveiling have the potential to transform our nation entirely. They will facilitate the seamless integration systems across vital sectors such as health, education, agriculture and mining,” added Mohadi.
Speaking at the occasion, NetOne GCEO Eng Raphael Mushanawani said the high quality network service will accessible across Zimbabwe.
“We officially join the global digital elite with the full operation of 20 NetOne 5G base stations across key areas in Zimbabwe. From here in Harare to Bulawayo, from our universities to Parliament, and even in our airports, Zimbabwe is now poised to experience connectivity like never before. We are ensuring that our urban and rural areas are linked through this powerful high speed data network, creating new opportunities for everyone,” he said.
Mushanawani said the activation of the 5G services open doors to innovation that will shape every sector of our economy.
He underscored that the extensive high speed data network is not ending with 5G technologies following the deployment 275 LTE base stations which were deployed under the National Mobile Broadband Phase 3 program which was launched on the 20th of September 2021 by His Excellency Cde Dr. E.D Mnangagwa.
