Mnangagwa fires ‘tribalist’ deputy minister

PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has fired the tribalist deputy minister a few hours after trending on social media for harassing a Shona speaking teacher.
Details of Sibanda’s dismissal were confirmed in a statement released by Martin Rushwaya, the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet.
“His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe,Ce Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa has in terms, of Section 108 (1a) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe removed Hon. Simelisizwe Sibanda from the Office of the Deputy Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education,Innovation,Science and Technology Development with immediate effect,” reads the statement in part.
However, no finer details were revealed as to why Sibanda was discharged of his duties.
