Mhona , ZINARA shines at top national awards ceremony

TRANSPORT, Communication and Infrastructure Development Minister , Felix Mhona was conferred the top-performing Minister of 2024.
In a statement accompanying the accolades, government said 19 ministers managed to meet expectations, while the remaining seven fell short but stayed within an acceptable variance. Despite this, Mhona’s leadership in the transport sector saw him emerge as the best among his peers.
Permanent Secretaries, and heads of other Government departments received the accolades as the Second Republic continued to foster a culture of excellence, work ethic and servant leadership in its quest to attain Vision 2030.
ZINARA whose board is under the chairmanship of Dr George Manyaya and stewardship of Nkosinathi Ncube has scooped the overall prize for Revenue Authorities.
Manyaya was adjudged the overall best chairperson. He bagged the best-performing board chairperson in the revenue collection authorities sector.
Nkosinathi Ncube was the overall best CEO. To cap it all, the parent ministry walked away with a spring. Transport and Infrastructural Development minister Felix Mhona was adjudged the best-performing minister.
Mhona has made strides in road rehabilitation and commissioned several key roads in the past year.
Some of the road rehabilitation projects include the Trababalus interchange and Nemakonde Highway among others.
The signing of performance contracts was initiated by President Mnangagwa, with Government officials and heads of parastatals signing portfolio-specific contracts.
Of the 26 Permanent Secretaries none exceeded set targets, 15 met targets and 11 were below but with variance.
Five Provincial Ministers met set targets while the other five were below set targets but within variance.
