Global Covid-19 deaths approach 580,000 – South Africa, US, Brazil and India report highest infection rises
Globally, the total confirmed cases of Covid-19 have reached over 13,324,000 with over 579,000 deaths and 7,399,000 recoveries
Countries in Central and South America continue to represent four out of the top ten countries with the highest number of confirmed Covid-19 cases.
Brazil and Mexico still hold the highest number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the region, although the five day average of confirmed Covid-19 cases has decreased.
Meanwhile, the five day average of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Colombia and Peru has increased.
South Africa has the highest number of cases in Africa as well as the eighth highest number of cases globally, and is alongside the US, Brazil and India in reporting the biggest rise of recent Covid-19 cases.
