First Capital Bank injects US$30k to support NBSZ

FIRST Capital Bank has injected a US$30 000 cash and low cost renewable energy equipment donation to the  National Blood Services Zimbabwe (NBSZ) to improve efficiencies at life saving institution.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Deputy Health Minister,Doctor John Mangwiro expressed profound gratitude to the leading financial services provider.

“We express our sincere gratitude for the donation that NBSZ has received from First Capital Bank. Blood is a life-saving issue and no other fluid can replace blood. I encourage other stakeholders and individuals to also come on board and donate other required equipment to National Blood Services Zimbabwe,” he said.

Mangwiro added that  the new initiative will ease the transportation of blood to the required clinics and hospitals across the country through enhanced refrigeration

First Capital Bank executives : the Managing Director of the bank Mr. Ciaran MacSharry  and Cool Solar Manager Patrick Devenish also donated blood.

Low-Cost Renewable Energy Solution kick-started in May 2020. The initiative came through Juanilla Chimombe who is NBSZ Executive Assistant to the CEO.

“Blood is life. Everyone needs blood. Road accidents occur every time. As such, I ask every citizen to donate blood to save lives. We have a serious shortage of blood group ‘O’ in the country and we invite every citizen to come and donate blood,” said NBSZ Chief Executive Officer, Lucy Marowa.
