FAWEZI moves to select 200 candidates for TVET scholarships

THE Forum for African Women Educationists (FAWE) Zimbabwe is finalizing a selction process which will wee over 200 candidates being awarded the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) scholarships.
The program is being run in partnership with the the Mastercard Foundation under the FAWE/Mastercard Foundation Phase II Programme, which recently convened the National Selection Committee for the TVET bursary.
“The meeting marks the final stage of a transparent, countrywide selection process that began with a one-month call for applications, followed by nationwide collection through MoPSE, online submissions, and targeted outreach including Tongogara Refugee Camp, LCDZ and CAMFED,” said FAWEZI in a statement.
Data released by the CSO confirms that at least 4 564 applications were received and 3,710 applications met the eligibility criteria after pre-screening, and all were entered into a master database where automated scoring and vulnerability rankings were applied.
Provincial Selection Committees made up of Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development, Department of Social Development, TVET institutions including Harare, Bulawayo, Gweru, Mutare, Kwekwe Polytechnics and one Teachers College, Belvedere Technical Teachers College, and FAWEZI reviewed applications and shortlisted 400 candidates.
“The National Selection Committee is reviewing these cases to identify the final 200 candidates for home visits, ensuring fairness, accountability and full alignment with programme principles,” added FAWEZI.
