Dinson Iron and Steel resumes operations, unveils new products

DINSON Iron and Steel Company (DISCO) has resumed operations following a successful shut down for maintenance and system upgrades.

In a statement DISCO CEO Benson Xu said normal operations resumed on November 3 2025 as he expressed gratitude to the employees for their patience and professionalism.

“We are delighted to confirm that all staff have returned to their respective workstations in good health and high spirits all resumed work with renewed energy and commitment,” he said.

Xu also announced that the company is now certified by the South Africa Bureau of Standards (SABS) and Dinson rebars were certified conforming to the South African National Standards (SANS) being SANS 920:2011 – Applicable to steel bars for concrete reinforcement.

“In addition, Dinson Iron and Steel Company is an ISO 9001:2015 certified organization as approved by the Standards Association of Zimbabwe (SAZ). Dinson steel bars were also tested and certified by the Standards Association of Zimbabwe (SAZ) and were approved to use the SAZ Standards Mark,” said Xu.

The SABS and  SAZ are impartial certification and regulatory bodies which conduct their assessments with integrity, free from external influences and aligned with global best practices.

He said these internationally recognized certifications affirm our commitment to: consistent product quality and reliability, robust internal systems and continuous improvement, enhanced customer satisfaction and stakeholder confidence and compliance with global standards in manufacturing and management.

Xu said for our stakeholders, these certifications serve as a guarantee that Dinson’s steel products are produced under stringent quality controls and that our operations meet the highest benchmarks of professionalism and accountability.

He underscored that this milestone strengthens our position as a trusted industrial partner in Zimbabwe and across the region.

Added Xu , “In line with our principle of continuous growth, we have started production on Steel Balls as well as Wire Rods. Dinson remains committed to act as Zimbabwe’s flagship industrial development hub and a cornerstone of the nation’s economic transformation agenda benefiting all downstream industries. These new products offer an opportunity for investment in many other value added steel products by other players and therefore enhance value-chain development.
