Diabetic journalist Vanessa Gonye falls ill shortly after penning “touching” article on the condition

NEWSDAY journalist, Vanessa Gonye has been admitted to hospital a few hours after penning a touching article to mark the World Diabetes Day in which she shared her personal experiences with the diabetic condition.

Since then she has endured a lot of hiccups and difficulties and at one point almost failed to complete her studies.

Posting in a media practitioners group, a close friend of hers announced that she fell ill a few hours after publishing the article.

“If you read Newsday yesterday, you could have come across an article on Vanessa Gonye, living with diabetes, as we marked World Diabetes Day.She is diabetic and fell ill end of day yesterday

“She went to Parirenyatwa Hospital and was admitted.
