Chamisa slams ED bullying , biased police for disrupting Gokwe rally

CITIZENS Coalition for Change (CCC) leaders has slammed President Emmerson Mnangagwa for using bullying techniques after deploying the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) to frustrate the party’s Gokwe rally.
The country’s top opposition outfit had to obtain a court order against ZRP which had barricaded all the road leading to Gokwe center ahead of Chamisa’s rally.
Frustrated by the unlawful acts, Chamisa took it to Twitter to express his frustration against the regime.
““So low! But why? We were the first to notify the police about our Kwekwe and Gokwe rallies,” he tweeted.
“ED (Mnangagwa) countered by provocatively and arrogantly pencilling his rally for Kwekwe. We don’t accept bullying!! We had no single policeman in Highfield or at any of our previous rallies. Our rallies are not covered by police.”
“They just disrupt our activities. Police are only for Zanu PF. They don’t have police to cover the rally, but they have police and arsenal to block us,” he said.
Despite heavy police presence , Chamisa was well received in Gokwe as thousands of people were seen marching behind his vehicle.
He remains very popular against the frustrating headwinds his party has faced and even his rival ,Douglas Mwonzora who usurped the MDC brand amid developments calculated to have been enabled by the regime, has struggled in the recent weeks to pull crowds surpassing 300 people.
CCC national organizing secretary, Amos Chibaya vowed to reschedule the Gokwe program.
