THE Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader, Adv Nelson Chamisa has bemoaned the rising tide of a new sellouts industry value chain which has seen political leaders sacrificing the people’s cause in exchnge for money.
Several politicians have been allegedly mire in this web especially among the opposition circles.
The suspected culprits include celebrated opposition strategist Douglas Mwonzora who allegedly joined hands with the ruling Zanu-PF administration to earn the recognition of the main opposition leader.
Other top figures like Moreblessing Chebundo , ex-Senior MDC official Lilian Timveous who left to join the ruling party are among those labelled as seellouts in the opposition circles.
More recently, the emergence of CCC ‘self-appointed’ secretary general Sengezo Tshabangu and the fired Harare Mayor Jacob Mafume on the back of suspicion that he could be working in cahoots with senior elements are typical examples of the strengthening of an industry of sellouts.
Rattled by such lack of a long term vision and disregard of the citizens struggle, CCC leader ,Nelson Chamisa Sunday took it to social media where he slammed the corroded leadership ethics.
“Sellouts is a booming industry, especially under a dictatorship. One thing surprises me; at any given moment in time, there is never a shortage of individuals who are readily available or willingly accessible, to sell their soul to the oppressor.
Thereby assisting the oppressor to achieve their own power retention motives and wicked ends. And it is always about the thirty pieces of silver,” he said.
Chamisa said energies must in fact be focused on fixing the broken nation of Zimbabwe.
“here is NO next election without fixing the fraud, chicanery and cheating problems of the past and last elections. 23 August 2023 was a gigantic fraud- a source of national shame and international embarrassment.
“Zimbabwe must be brought back to transparent national processes, majority rule and a citizens-elected leadership. No sideshows can deflect us from this core business as citizens. We must focus on the main-show..the full realization of the true will of the people of Zimbabwe,” he added
