CAPS Utd signs up new players

HARARE giants CAPS United have unveiled eight new signings ahead of the 2024 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season which kicks off on the 24th of next month.
The Harare giants had a dismal 2023 season where they won just 11 league matches and lost 10 with 13 draws.
They eventually finished a distant 8th, 20 points behind champions Ngezi Platinum Stars.
CAPS United have however moved in swiftly to refresh their squad after announcing eight new players on their social media platform.
As expected, coach Lloyd Chitembwe has gone for experience in 35-year-old former Highlanders and Azam utility player Bruce Kangwa.
33-year-old former Dynamos and Manica Diamonds midfielder Ralph Kawondera has also joined the Green Machine alongside 38-year-old striker Lot Chiunga who had an impressive second half of the season with relegated Black Rhinos.
Makepekepe have also roped in former Nichrut goalkeeper Tafadzwa Jabangwe, 28-year-old Defensive midfielder Wayne Makuva who was on loan at Triangle from Ngezi Platinum Stars and Munyaradzi Chirwa who turned out for Sheasham last year.
The club has also invested in youth after signing 20-year-old forward Junior Bunjira, son to club legend Alois Bunjira, as well another youngster Simbarashe Gunda.
On the other end, CAPS United lost one of their best players Joseph Thulani, who is now with Chicken Inn, while they have released utility players Kelvin Madzongwe and Ben Musaka, as well as midfielders Joel Ngodzo and Adrian Silla together with goalkeeper Bhekimpilo Ncube.
