Chamisa says not giving up in the wake of ‘unjustified oppression’

By Staff Writer

CITIZENS Coalition for Change (CCC) leader, Nelson Chamisa has vowed to keep fighting in the wake of unjustified oppression.

The remarks come at a time when the recently voted legislators when one Sengezo Tshabangu recently caused the recalls of 14 legislators, including six elected through proportional representation as well as nine senators and 17 councilors.

The CCC political party has since dismissed Tshabangu’s recalls describing him as a mere imposter working with the ruling Zanu-pf party to derail the opposition’s efforts to achieve democracy in the country.

A bid by the opposition party to block the illegal recalls hit a snag last week after the High Court dismissed an application by CCC legislators.

A section of experts has warned that Chamisa risks losing control of the firebrand opposition political party.

But in an update Sunday, Chamisa vowed to remain focused on the path of delivering lasting change in Zimbabwe.

“The reason why they fight us so fiercely is; they know this is where and who the real government is. They detest a prosperous and united Zimbabwe that works for everyone. They dislike seeing Zimbabweans a happy and dignified people.

“They are afraid of you the citizens and your amazing unlimited power!! #OnePeople Blessed Sunday! #Godisinit,” he said.
