Mnangagwa hands over critical equipment to Parirenyatwa Hospital

PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa Wednesday handed over a consignment of critical equipment at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals (PGH) for onward transmission to other health care centers.

Speaking soon after the handover, Mnangagwa said the development saying the consignment will go a long way to bolster health care delivery in the country.
He said from MRI machines to ambulances, we’re investing in the well-being of the people to enhance medical services and improve lives.
“This modern equipment will undoubtedly enhance efficient radiology services for our people at public health institution.
“As our country’s largest teaching hospital, it is befitting for PGH to have this kind of equipment which will also facilitate prompt diagnosis and treatment of patients in-house. The Hospital must ensure that this service is affordable to the general public,” he said.
The equipment comprises of the following:
-The new Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Centre at Prairenyatwa Group of Hospitals;
-Seventy seven (77) dental equipment sets which include chairs,
-autoclaves and x-rays, as well as virtual hospital emergency equipments which are a set of 10 000 each comprising digital Blood Pressure machines,
-Oxygen concentrators and gluco-meters.
-In addition, Government procured the following vehicles for distribution to health institutions:
-36 ambulances; -36 double cab vehicles;
-15 Ten-tonne trucks to be used for medicine distribution;
-15 double cab utility vehicle;
-and -28 staff buses for health service personnel
