Chamisa warns Mwonzora as delimitation report challenge collapses

Citizens Coalition for Change leader Nelson Chamisa has taken a pot shot at rival Douglas Mwonzora following the latter’s unsuccessful application challenging the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission’s delimitation report.
The Constitutional Court on Monday threw out the MDC leader’s application seeking nullification of the delimitation report and a delay of the elections set for July.
Mwonzora said the report gazetted in February was flawed and created room for a rigged election.
His application was heard by a full Constitutional Court bench chaired by Chief Justice Luke Malaba.
Following the Constitutional Court’s ruling Chamisa chided Mwonzora for being in cahoots with the ruling Zanu PF.
He wrote: “Never never go to bed with Zpf. It’s dangerous! Maybe just go to dinner but then use a very long spoon. Otherwise, it will end in tears!
Former Zanu PF youth leader Godfrey Tsenengamu and some opposition politicians have claimed the delimitation report challenge is a ploy by Zanu PF and Mwonzora to delay the polls.
Speaking after the ruling, Mwonzora said the judgement was political, unfair and a ‘recipe for disaster’.
His lawyer Lovemore Madhuku hinted that they would likely seek a declaration that ZEC’s delimitation report is invalid at the High Court.
