Former Vice President Simon Muzenda’s son whois also former Gutu West legislator, Tongai Muzenda has died.
Reliable sources confirmed the news of the passing away of Mzenda saying he died in a car accident around 10pm yesterday when a car he was driving hit an electricity pole in Borrowdale and lost control. He died on the spot.
At the time of his death Mzenda was General Manager of Minerals Marketing Corporation of Zimbabwe.
Tongai MUZENDA rose within the party ranks from the cell to becoming deputy chair of the Zanu-PF youth league in Gweru. In 2002 Muzenda relocated to Gutu where he has a farm. He joined Zanu PF youth structures and was elected deputy secretary for youth in 2003.
In 2013 he was appointed Deputy Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare
Muzenda leaves behind a wife Constance and two children, a boy and a girl.
He was 57.
