Music fans have expressed their desire to see local Zimbabwean artists Jnr Spragga, Atenda Chinx, and Holy Ten perform alongside international stars at the upcoming Ama2k Fest.
The festival organizers asked music lovers to select one male and one female local artist they would like to share the stage with global performers. This sparked an enthusiastic conversation reflecting the diversity of Zimbabwe’s music scene, with Zimdancehall and hip-hop artists gaining significant attention.
Jnr Spragga emerged as a fan favorite, thanks to his growing popularity and dynamic presence in the local entertainment industry. Fans appreciate his energetic style and connection with young audiences, making him a strong candidate for the festival’s big stage. Ruva Nyama commented, “Jnr Spragga has the energy and the music that can connect with people. I would definitely choose him for that stage.”
Atenda Chinx also received considerable support, with fans like Anashe Chamboko emphasizing the importance of showcasing local talent. “Atenda Chinx is one of the artists I would want to see getting that opportunity. We need to support our own musicians,” she said.
Hip-hop artist Holy Ten was another popular choice among fans for the male artist slot. Known for his distinct lyrical style and strong following, Holy Ten’s inclusion would bring a unique sound to the festival. Panashe Ruzande stated, “Holy Ten would be my choice because of his music and the following he has built. It would be interesting to see him on the same stage with international artists.”
Ama2k Fest is scheduled for December 12 this year and will mark the festival’s second edition. While the final lineup of local performers is yet to be confirmed, the discussions highlight the excitement and strong support for Zimbabwe’s homegrown talent.
