NetOne’s Growing Network Infrastructure bolsters Q2 2025 market position

Business Reporter
NetOne has expanded its telecommunications infrastructure in the second quarter of 2025, consolidating its role in Zimbabwe’s digital transformation.
The state-owned operator rolled out 224 new LTE base stations, 108 3G sites and five 2G stations during the quarter, while also investing in 5G infrastructure to prepare for future demand. Group chief executive Raphael Mushanawani said the upgrades were driven by rising customer demand for reliable, high-speed connectivity.
The investments contributed to measurable gains in performance. Voice traffic rose by 2.73% to 521.4 million minutes, pushing NetOne’s share of mobile voice services up by 0.28 percentage points to 12.37%. Active mobile subscriptions also grew slightly, reaching 3.99 million.
The company said its strategy of prioritising network quality is supporting both service delivery and market growth. Under Mushanawani’s leadership, NetOne is positioning itself as a key player in the development of Zimbabwe’s digital infrastructure.
