ZIBAWU raises alarm on suspected state agents hunting down SG Peter Mutasa

THE Zimbabwe Banks and Allied Workers Union (ZIBAWU) has raised alarm on the security of its Secretary General, Peter Mutasa on after encountering suspected state agents looking for details of his whereabouts.
Details on the latest developments were posted on the ZIBAWU X handle Friday afternoon.
“There are state agents driving two vehicles one a Ford Ranger who have been looking for our Gen Secretary
@MutasaPeter since yesterday. They have not said why they are looking for him but came at our offices last night and proceeded to his home also,” he said.
The developments come shortly after the ZIBAWU received a letter turning down a demonstration notification from the Zimbabwe Republic Police.
The banking sector workers have been at loggerheads with the sector’s employers as they demand better wages consistent with lucrative profits generated by employers. After failing to reach an amicable agreement, the union recently approached the ZRP notifying them of the intention to stage peaceful demos.
