By Staff Reporter
REAL Estate tycoon, Ken Sharpe has implored women to place God at the center of their journey to the top over and above their naturally granted attributes of resilience and perseverance.
He made the remarks at the just ended Women for Prosperity Conference co-organized by his wife Joanna and the Atlantic Business Council’s Freedom and Prosperity Center.
Drawing examples from his company, WestProp Holdings Limited’s philosophy, the revered property tycoon said prayer is the key to success.
“Every day at WestProp at 7:55 am we have a prayer meeting. We actually have a full time Bishop working at our company and he takes care of our spiritual and physical wellbeing. Part of his role is being at the office at 7:30 am and prepare for the scriptures ahead of 7:45 am.I try to be there for the meetings.
“Today the subject was on resilience and perseverance. Looking at the different things in life that help us to live longer, definitely the physical is important to take care of, the mental and emotional. The strongest one on that triangle is a sense of purpose. Out of all the factors in our lives the sense of purpose is what helps us to stay alive,” he said.
He urged women never to forget their sense of purpose as he underscored the attribute one thing that will carry them (women) when things get tough.
“This is a thing that will give a vision of the future. I believe that women are more resilient than men. If you analyze a woman’s resilience in a desert and places of survival, women live much longer than men in tough conditions without food and water.
If you look at women who carry a child for nine months they are extremely resilient,” he said.
Sharpe said when one looks at the second characteristic of perseverance , never giving up and sticking to it is one of the attributes typical of women considering that they carry a child for nine months their wombs and takes care of them when they are born for the rest of their lives .A mother never gives up on her child .
