Govt disburses ZWG 45, 3 million to ‘ghostly’ Tshabangu under Political Finance Act

SELF styled Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) secretary general, Sengezo Tshabangu will smile all the way to the bank following the decision by the government to inject ZWG45, 3 million into the party under the Political Finance Act.
In a statement, Justice Minister, Ziyambi Ziyambi, notified of the latest development, in terms of section 3(2) of the Political Parties (Finance) Act Chapter 2:11], that the total amount of moneys payable to political parties in respect of the year beginning 1st of January, 2025 and ending on the 31st of December, 2025, is one hundred and forty-seven million six hundred and eighty-two thousand five hundred ZWG dollars only (ZWG 147 682 500.00).
One hundred and two million, three hundred and forty-three thousand, nine hundred and seventy-two ZWG dollars and fifty cents (ZWG 102 343 972.50) shall be paid to the Zimbabwe African National Union (Patriotic Front).
“Forty-five million, three hundred and thirty-eight thousand, five hundred and twenty-seven ZWG dollars and fifty cents (ZWG 45,338.527.50) shall be paid to the Citizen Coalition for Change(CCC), which received 30.7% of the total votes cast,” said Ziyambi.
Sengezo Tshabangu is a Zimbabwean politician. Since March 2024, Tshabangu has served in the Zimbabwe parliament as a Senator from Matabeleland North Province. He claims to be the interim Secretary General of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC).
The party was formed by Advocate Nelson Chamisa , who led the outfit through the 2023 elections, before stepping down following what he described as a ‘hijacked party’.
