THE European Union (EU) says it is availing a whopping 250 million Euros to support women empowerment projects.
Speaking to The Humanitarian Post recently , EU head of delegation to Zimbabwe Jobst von Kirchmann said the bloc has set set aside funds to be channeled towards women empowerment.
“As the European Union we are making available 250 million Euros to make women empowerment a reality. We have seen today that many women are still struggling and sometimes I tell women to be more courageous. Men are much more courageous.
“They start businesses without so much knowledge about it .They take chances,” he said.
The envoy hailed the government of Zimbabwe for immense investments towards women empowerment and pledged to support the efforts.
“I think women empowerment ranges from simply allowing women to start a business but goes as far as empowering them to take decisions and being an active partner in social, economic and political life.
“Women do not often think twice but ten times before taking a decision. As men we have to support them in their endeavors to start a business .We have to help them to have the courage to go ahead. As the EU we also stand ready to help them,” he said.
