Crisis hits ZIFA as Mliswa challenges elections process

By Staff Reporter
OUTSPOKEN politician, Temba Mliswa has tabled plans to challenge the manner in which the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) is conducting polls in a move set to open floodgates of controversy to the body.
Benjani Mwaruwari, Prophet Magaya, Temba Mliswa and Farai Jere were removed from the list of contestants for the forthcoming ZIFA presidential elections.
Mliswa will address the media on the way forward Thursday morning in a gesture set to leave the forthcoming polls with a big dent.
Earlier, the politician described process as massively flawed and tilted in favour of promoting the aspirations of a shadowy cartel.
“Many have missed the forest for the trees in the ZIFA saga. The minutiae of individual candidates such as myself, removed from contesting, is a mere addendum to the actual conspiracy by an elite clique intent on capturing the whole football sector.
“Now suddenly Magwizi is a Banket FC official when even those on the ground don’t know anything about that. How do you have a ZIFA head who falsifies information? Where are the minutes of his appointment? Where is the corroboration for his supposed appointment or election?
The fiasco is likely to generate debate on the ongoing polls at the Zimbabwe Football Association.
