CITIZENS Coalition for Change leader, Adv Nelson Chamisa Friday paid his condolences to the family of the slain party supporter in Mabvuku where he condemned escalating bloody politics underscoring that such conduct is swiftly marking the ruling Zanu-PF party’s end.
The activist Tapfumaneyi Masaya, a Pastor at a local Pillar of the Word church, was last to leave their home headed for CCC’s door-to-door campaigns ahead of December’s by-elections.
Masaya was allegedly abducted Saturday by state security agents while campaigning for the upcoming December 9 by-elections.
He was forcibly taken away by armed men and found dead three days later.
Zimbabwe has witnessed a prolonged history of political activists experiencing forced disappearances and deaths, with the opposition frequently alleging the ruling Zanu- PF party’s complicity in the torture and demise of its supporters.
Just in three weeks, CCC former Mabvuku-Tafara Member of Parliament James Chidhakwa and another legislator Takudzwa Ngadziore were abducted, subjected to torture and drugged with unknown substances.
The story was attached to drama of some sought after Presidential Spokesperson, George Charamba accused the family of identifying the wrong body.
Speaking to party supporter shortly after paying his condolences, the trailblazing opposition leader, Chamisa said his supporters were facing such retribution because of overwhelming support across the country.
“The CCC party popularity has caused the hate and retribution we are facing .Our popularity has caused the Zanu-pf party. They have stolen every cent in the country’s coffers and now they can’t be satisfied by wealth alone. They are now going after destroying lives.
He slammed the use of bloody politics in the 21st century, urging the party’s rivals not to reduce themselves beyond jungle animals’ standards.
“Politics is not about disagreement .Politics is not about fist fighting. Politics is not about graves. Even baboons are not as foolish. You will never find baboons fighting up to a point when they kill each other.
“But some individuals choose violence because they are possessed with demons. But take note of the fact that the regime’s era is coming to an end.Such behavior indicates that it is time up,” he added.
