I thunderously defeated puppets CCC, no to GNU- Mnangagwa

PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa claims that he thunderously defeated the ‘puppet’ opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) political party in the just ended elections underscoring that there is no need to form a Government of National Unity (GNU).

The remarks fly in the face of the SADC Elections Observer Mission’s report and other EOMs which described the elections as a “substandard and flawed” process.

Some experts have since called for the formation of a GNU to bolster continuity for the deeply divided nation.

But addressing the party’s Central Committee meeting Saturday Mnangagwa pre-emptied any hopes for a GNU insisting he was granted a fresh five year term by the people of Zimbabwe.

“The people have granted our revolutionary mass party ,Zanu-pf yet another mandate to govern our great motherland ,Zimbabwe. This is the reality that  the leaders of the opposition, their supporters and their handlers must face

“Entertaining any talk of a rerun , a so called Government of National Unity, or Transitional Authority  is a pipedream that will never happen,” he said.

He said the opposition needs to wake up from delusions and accept that the people of the great motherland have spoken, the collective voices must be respected.

He claimed that democracy and constitutionalism reign supreme in our country and insisted that Zanu-pf  success was a result of unity of purpose ,consistency and had work as well as people centered policies , programmes and projects.

“Informed by our message and demonstration of unity , love and harmony we delivered free, fair ,peaceful, transparent and credible election.

“Together as a united people , we shamed our detractos who had wished for division , violence and even bloodshed in our country,” he said.

Mnangagwa said the thunderous defeat of puppet political parties  represented a rejection of neo-colonialism and subjugation by our detractors

“”We strongly condemn the opposition who are rejecting constitutionalism and democracy in our country by disregarding laws ,institutions and processes.

Zimbabwe , under Zanu-pf will never be a bana Republic ,” a free for all,” he added.
