Prominent businessman and ZANU-PF central committee member Kudakwashe Tagwirei has urged Zimbabweans to reject calls for anti-government protests and instead rally behind President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s development agenda.
The July 31, 2026 demonstrations in Zimbabwe are planned nationwide protests and civil shutdowns organized against the controversial Constitution of Zimbabwe Amendment Act No. 3 (CAA3) and worsening economic hardships.

Speaking to supporters, Tagwirei dismissed the protest movement as unwarranted, insisting that the President is delivering on key projects across the country. He called on citizens to remain at work and spread the message that there is no leadership vacuum.
“Go to work and tell others that the President is doing well. Look at the projects he is implementing,” Tagwirei said.
He made the remarks while addressing thousands of ZANU-PF supporters in Epworth, Harare, to solidfy the ruling party’s “2030 Agenda” under President Emmerson Mnangagwa
Tagwirei, who chairs the Land Tenure Implementation Programme, pointed to ongoing government initiatives as proof of progress.
