Tshabangu receives US$1,6 mln windfall

Information at hand indicates that Tshabangu recently received the windfall from the Treasury.
Widely labeled the “self-imposed” CCC secretary general, the opposition character has made headlines in the past following massive recalls of legislators and councilors in an overdrive described by critics as a ploy to cripple opposition politics while advancing the ruling party’s agenda.
The blows suffered by in the 2023 General Elections were partly caused by a number of double candidates it claims were illegally allowed to contest. It however managed to claim more than a third of the vote despite that.
Vacancies in the 15 constituencies mean Zanu PF now stands a chance at finally scoring a two-thirds Parliamentary majority which analysts say would be the first step towards ensuring President Emmerson Mnangagwa scraps term limits and extends his stay in power.
