GAMECHANGER mobile network operator, Netone has implored stakeholders under the Vision 2030 movement to harness high tech products as an accessory to intergenerational dialogue.

NetOne Group Chief Executive Officer, Raphael Mushanawani made the clarion call Wednesday at the Vision 2030 Intergenerational Dialogue Summit.

The top corporate officer told the highly charged gathering that the convention had come at an opportune moment where technology, skills, and innovation are converging to build a Zimbabwe that truly leaves no one and no place behind under  the visionary leadership of His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa.

“As NetOne, we are proud to be at the centre of this transformation — not merely as a service provider, but as a national enabler of opportunity. We are deploying the foundation of digital infrastructure that will carry the next generation into the future they deserve. The youth of today are the leaders of our digital tomorrow, and our role is to equip them with the tools, the skills, and the platforms that ensure they thrive in a connected world,” he said.

He said the theme under which the summit was held — intergenerational dialogue — delved directly to NetOne’s mission of making sure that technology must not divide generations; but must connect them.

“The older generation brings wisdom and institutional memory; the younger generation brings innovation and agility. Our responsibility as NetOne is to create the digital bridges that make this exchange seamless, productive, and sustainable,” he said.

Mushanawani, the first NetOne CEO who has managed to turn the corner by introducing a series of breath taking tech products and services said within the matrix of intergenerational dialogue, the younger generation brings innovation and agility whereas the older generation brings wisdom and institutional memory.

To fulfill the pledge, the NetOne has since deployed partnerships with tertiary institutions, innovation hubs, and vocational training centres, where massive investments in the development of digital skills — nurturing innovators, software developers, and data scientists who will drive Zimbabwe’s Fourth Industrial Revolution are in full swing.

“We are also conscious of the human side of technology — its impact on how people live, learns, and lead. Technology must serve humanity, not replace it. It must uplift, not isolate. As we connect communities, we are equally committed to promoting responsible digital citizenship,” he said.

The reputable GCEO said a number of products had since been developed to spur economic productivity such as Smart Agriculture and Smart Mining .

“Across these initiatives, our purpose remains constant — to touch lives. We measure our success not by the number of towers we erect, but by the number of lives we transform. When a young farmer accesses real-time information before planting, we have touched a life.

“When a student in a rural college accesses e-learning content through our network, we have touched a life. When a clinic consults a specialist in Harare through a NetOne connection, we have touched a life,” he added.
